Our Mission Statement
Your Blood Counts has a clear mission: to increase the access and use of blood testing for young people, and to improve awareness of how blood cancer can present in otherwise healthy, young individuals.
Our primary aim is to target healthcare practitioners rather than individuals, because we believe that the problem is a systemic one.

What issue are we tackling?
Young people with leukaemia are too often overlooked because the disease is considered unlikely at their age. Symptoms are often misattributed to common illnesses, and can delay blood tests and diagnosis.
We believe that this is a systemic issue. We aim to address this by enhancing awareness and education among healthcare professionals, ensuring that age does not prevent the consideration of blood cancer.
What Makes Us Different?
Your Blood Counts has a different approach than many other cancer awareness campaigns.
Whilst there are already many campaigns out there that advocate for the awareness of cancer symptoms in the individual, Your Blood Counts aims to target a systemic problem in the NHS.
What steps are we going to take?
